Invader Zim came out on March 30, 2001 and in my family, it was greatly anticipated.
Zim is an American Anime about a moronic alien, shunned by his home planet and sent to Earth on a pseudo mission of world domination.
In order to prove himself to his leaders, The Almighty Tallest, Irken Zim takes his conceitedness to Earth with his malfunctioning SIR unit, GIR. |

GIR is a zany, obnoxious little robot, given to Zim when he was assigned to planet Earth.
The Almighty Tallest, wanting to be rid of Zim for forever, give him the malfunctioning robot who is supposed to help Zim in his "mission."
Though GIR is completely brainless and lacking the capacity to function in a normal manner, he proves helpful and soon him and Zim become a dynamic duo. |
As Zim's "mission" unfolds, he enrolls himself in the local "SKOOL."
There he meets his arch nemesis, Dib, the son of Professor Membrane, the smartest man on Earth.
Dib, who is immensely interested in the supernatural, immediately recognizes Zim as an alien and so begins his quest to reveal him to human society.
Gaz is Dib's humorless, cynical younger sister.
She is randomly splattered throughout the show and sometimes will have her own episode about videogames (her obsession).
She hates her brother Dib, and likes Zim for keeping him out of her hair, even though she knows he's an alien.
